What Happens When You Leave The Drama In 2024!? Well....
The Final Week of SUPER PLUMBER SISTERS on Kickstarter is now!!
What do you get when you decide to have a drama free year in 2024? You start getting a whole lot comics made! This is super exciting! Let’s get into it!
But before we start, we are on the FINAL WEEK to back SUPER PLUMBER SISTERS on Kickstarter! Don’t miss out on the highly anticipated sequel to last years banger! We had tons of good reviews, and we’re hoping the reception continues!
WE LOVE COMICS, SO WE MAKE MORE COMICS!
I told myself that this year was the year that I focused on my family first, and then my comics. Twitter drama? Out. Youtube drama? Out. Get into it with creators? Out. I wanted a positive space and have been doing my best to make that happen.
The side effects? More comics are being made and I’m having a blast!
Here is a real fun page Tommy and I did for BULLET ASSASSIN LIVING IN A FANTASY WORLD #1. The book is super close to being completed!
As well, ever since I got my mojo back for THE GIRL WITH THE MEGA FISTS, the pages have just been FLYING! I finished Chapter 46 last week, and have already started on Chapter 47 of the book. This series is close to my heart due to me being the one that writes and does all the art duties.
As well, after 2 weeks of super late nights, I finished the post-production art for THE CTHULHU MURDERS, and my editor Patrick got me the final edits over the weekend. Hopefully by the end of NEXT week we can celebrate the completion of SUPER PLUMBER SISTERS #1-2 Kickstarter, and the completion of THE CTHULHU MURDERS!
Freak! I love making comics y’all and I’m having a silly goose time doing it!
The Two Types of Indie Creators (Actually Three…)
There are TWO types of indie creators:
1) the creator who is in indie comics with a goal to eventually work for a publisher, rep a brand, etc
2) the creator who is in indie comics and wants full independence. To do things their way, no strings attached, grow their own brand, reap all the reward for their work
Both of these two creators are awesome, but have very different mindsets and goals.
I’ve always been #2. It’s why I try so many things to see what does and doesn’t work for me. Having worked for a publisher and done comics with a publisher, I personally would rather stay independent fully.
But that’s just me. I have a massive pros and cons list of why I’d rather be fully independent than go with a publisher or work with them. But also, my goals and measures of success are different, and unique to me. My family will always come first to me, so if that means my success is staying where I’m at, then to me, that’s winning.
I have friends however who are in the #1 spot and it’s great. I celebrate their wins and successes and I hope they get their shots. Heck, there are creators who are doing a mixture of both! And that’s awesome.
One type of creator isn’t better than the other, nor is one right or wrong. Make comics the way you want to, be the creator you want, and go have a silly goose time.
I hope you all have a fantastic rest of your week. I’ll be messaging you on THURSDAY MORNING reminding you about SUPER PLUMBER SISTERS #1-2 Kickstarter finale.
Peace!
Tyler :)
It's fun when you get that "creative fire" going. The paradox is that it occurs when you don't seek it, like how the stress of writer's block keeps inspiration away.
I’m more Creator 2 than Creator 1, I wanna make my own stuff. And with the way things are going, I’m not comfortable with “something” lording over my story with the power to change it to fit their agenda.. I made it to fit my agenda 😂 “To have a silly goose time”
Then again, I have to make something, lest my rambling will be all for naught lol
Keep it up Tyler, glad to see you enjoying comics again!! 😎👍
