What a week. Dealing with online trolls and fulfilling books…being in the comic biz is very interesting. So. Let’s talk about how to deal with comic trolls, comic updates, Absolute Batman #1 review, and more!
Also! SUPER PLUMBER SISTERS #1-3 on Kickstarter is doing fantastic! Seriously. I’m so pumped. If we can hit $10k-$12k, I am able to invest in a new series for 2025/2026. Let’s make it happen!
So…how to deal with the trolls…
Dealing With Comic Trolls 101
I’m not unfamiliar with dealing with comic trolls. I’ve had to deal with them since 2018, and some of the worst comic trolls are people that I once considered my friends…
Like seriously…this account was trying to cancel me over the week over stuff that wasn’t hidden or secret, and stuff that I’ve addressed publicly multiple times. They tried to get a “gotcha” moment, and it just didn’t work for them. Very sad and vile.
Luckily I know how to deal with these types of people, so an attack like this this week was amusing at best. But still, the fact that trolls like this exist is extremely sad.
So how does one deal with them?
Block them. Honestly this is the best thing to do. Block hard and block fast. Didn’t give this troll any time of day. They feed off of bringing negativity into others lives due to their lives being absolutely miserable
Another thing that you could do is find a way to use them for positive engagement, despite them throwing out negativity around you. If you’re able to pull this off and come out on top, this can be pretty effective. You’ll need thick skin and a good rep for this.
What’s sad is that there are people (even other indie creators) who think they need to be these type of people. The fact that an indie creator feels the need to create an alt-account on a social media platform to bully another indie creator is incredibly embarrassing for them. It shows their lack of self control and self esteem. These people hate themselves. They hate their lives and because of this they are vindictive, jealous, and out right nasty.
If you’re a creator who has a problem with me, no need to make an alt. Reach out to me like a man, and let’s have a conversation together.

And a question I’d love to hear you elaborate on in a future post, if you had to lay it out in 3-5steps how do you go from making your own comics solo (in most people’s cases with art that is a bit lacking) to hiring out artists??
Side question, how to sell a comic when you KNOW your art isn’t nearly as good as other stuff around?
