Thanks for keeping it real Tyler! I am nor a comic creator but I am a writer (nothing published... yet) and my attempts to network with other Local Authors and Writers has yielded nothing fruitful yet
hey thanks for sharing your experience. This gives me peace (unfortunately lol). Like. I just don't get why it's so hard for creatives to make friends? I haven't had problems with people online, but doing it on the local scene is tough!
What kinds of stuff do you write? Novels? Poems? What genre?
"I looked at his book. The SAME book he was selling 4 years ago when we met, and the same book I saw him with last year."
Something about this line made me go -_- . I mean, if the goal is to do a one shot and move on to other things and sell for fun, I kinda get it. But it sounds like those networking wanted more than that. But you'd have to put more than one book every 4 years out.
I write fantasy and sci fi. I have a sci fi action comedy novel im roughly 20k words deep into writing. But ive mostly written short stories to this point. I have also submitted some short stories to a few of the Indie pulp magazines (no rejections or acceptances back yet). I've got a Sword and Sorcery weekly episodic I write here on the SubStack and I'm getting ready to drop my first novella (centered around a post apocalyptic bounty hunter) as an ebook in the next few weeks when I finish designing my cover.
